August 11, 2020 by Audrey Muck 3 Comments

The ERA-NC Alliance has sent out a survey to all North Carolina candidates running for state and federal office, to find out which candidates support the Equal Rights Amendment. Below you’ll find a list of those candidates who have responded so far. If you know any of the candidates who have not responded, feel free to urge them to fill out the postcard that was enclosed with the letter and get it back to us!

“It is inconceivable to me that in the 21st century there is
even a debate over equal
rights for women. What’s
to debate? The fact that
it is lawful to
discriminate between men
and women in North
Carolina is abhorrent and
inexcusable. Women need
the power of a constitu-
tional amendment to ensure
their protection from dis-
crimination in the form
of lower wages and
harassment. It is past
time for North Carolina
to ratify the ERA.”

You have Gale Adcock’s (HD 41) party affiliation wrong. She’s a Democrat.

It would be interesting to present this in a way that would pull out the Republicans who even bothered to answer. (I’m on my phone and it’s hard go scan.)
