2025 ERA-NC Alliance Annual Meeting
Saturday, November 15 (New date)
10:30 a.m. EST
Virtual meeting on Zoom
On behalf of the ERA-NC Alliance, we deeply thank you for your support of the ERA-NC Alliance. We invite you to join us for the annual meeting for updates on the status of the Equal Rights Amendment and Alliance activities in 2025, and we’ll elect new members of our Board of Directors for 2026-2027.
Our speaker this year is Jeri Burton.
Jeri is a life-long progressive activist and Equal Rights Amendment advocate. In 2022 she was one of the key activists to get the Nevada State Equal Rights Amendment passed and into the Nevada Constitution.
She is currently serving as Co-chair of the National Action Network – Las Vegas Political Action Committee, and was Executive Director of the Nevada Chapter of the National Organization for Women from 2017-2023. She also served on NOW’s National Board representing the Western District.
Jeri is an activist, mom, grandmother, wife, and a native Nevadan who works every day to achieve equal rights for all.
As we explore the steps to develop and ratify our own inclusive state ERA, we’re excited to hear from Jeri about how they prepared and implemented their wildly successful campaign!
We will also elect new Directors for our Board. All Alliance members in good standing are eligible to vote at the Annual Meeting. If you’re not a member and want to join, or need to renew your membership, please visit our website: https://www.era-nc.org/membership/#join. Not sure about your membership status? Send an email to membership@era-nc.org.
Interested in serving on the Alliance Board of Directors? You’ll find information about what our Board does and an application form on the Join Our Leadership Team page. We have many big plans for our 10th year of advocating for equality in North Carolina!
Because we are virtual this year, there is no charge for registration, but a donation would be appreciated to help us fund our exciting activities planned for 2026.
What is the current status of the ERA? The ERA has been ratified by the required 38 states. Therefore it is the 28th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, despite the fact that the federal government has failed formally publish it as such. The bill that would confirm North Carolina’s ratification of the ERA remains hung up in committee at the NC General Assembly.
Meet the candidates for the Board of Directors
We look forward to seeing you on November 15th!
Sincerely,
Marla Barthen and Audrey Muck
Co-Presidents, ERA-NC Alliance
