Our Annual Meeting and 10th Anniversary Luncheon will be in person this year at the Charlotte Hawkins Brown Museum in Gibsonville. This is actually one of the locations to explore as part of the new Girl Scouts Equality Trailblazers project!
10th Anniversary
It’s amazing that the ERA-NC Alliance has been advocating for Constitutional equality in North Carolina for ten years. While we haven’t crossed the finish line yet, we’ve raised awareness about the need for the Equal Rights Amendment from Asheville to Wilmington, and most importantly, on Jones St. in Raleigh! Gaining Constitutional equality regardless of gender has never been so close at hand. While we await an equality-friendly General Assembly, we’ve leaned into the American Bar Association’s opinion that the ERA is the 28th Amendment.
Join us as we celebrate our advocacy over the past decade and look forward to seeing the Amendment published in the U.S. Constitution and supporting its implementation here in North Carolina in the coming years.
We have many ticket options to fit all sizes of budgets. We have a New Member Special – save $15 on the luncheon and your first year’s membership. Members and Guests can sponsor a student for the meeting. Lead Organizations can purchase a luncheon table (6 seats) and get a free exhibitor table. And there are many other Sponsoring options available!!

This year, the Alliance will elect all members of the executive council and three members of the board of directors. Serving on the executive council or board is a great way to hone your leadership skills, work on meaningful change, and develop lasting friendships.

A decade ago, Jessica Neuwirth’s groundbreaking book, Equal Means Equal, played an important role in the formation of the ERA-NC Alliance. Through her legal work and advocacy, Neuwirth made a powerful case for why the Equal Rights Amendment remains essential to achieving full constitutional equality. In case after case, her book documented the profound need for the ERA.
We’ve had some great Sip-n-Paint fundraisers for the ERA-NC Alliance this summer in Wilmington, Chapel Hill and Greensboro!
