Constitution Day “Lunch & Learn”

August 29, 2026 by Audrey Muck Leave a Comment

Constitution Day “Lunch & Learn”

September 17 | Noon–1:15 p.m. | Virtual

Featuring keynote speaker Jessica Neuwirth, author of Equal Means Equal

Jessica NeuwirthA decade ago, Jessica Neuwirth’s groundbreaking book, Equal Means Equal, played an important role in the formation of the ERA-NC Alliance. Through her legal work and advocacy, Neuwirth made a powerful case for why the Equal Rights Amendment remains essential to achieving full constitutional equality. In case after case, her book documented the profound need for the ERA.

We are thrilled to welcome Jessica as the keynote speaker for our free Constitution Day “Lunch & Learn” virtual conference on September 17 from noon to 1:15 p.m.

This summer, Neuwirth published an updated edition of her influential book, Equal Means Equal: The Case for Recognizing the ERA as the 28th Amendment. Her insights are more timely than ever as advocates, attorneys, and scholars continue to explore the legal significance and practical impact of the ERA.

This free virtual event is especially designed for lawyers and law students, and we encourage you to share this invitation with colleagues, classmates, and anyone interested in constitutional equality and the Equal Rights Amendment.

Given the profound influence Jessica’s work has had on advocates across the country—including the ERA-NC Alliance—we can think of no better person to introduce a new generation of legal professionals to the continuing importance of the ERA.
